Thursday 3rd June

10.30am-last tour at 3.30pm

National Family Week, the UK’s biggest celebration of family life, is kicking off the summer half term holidays between 31st May and 6th June with over 5000 family-friendly events and activities taking place across the country. Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum is proud to be part of this great family initiative and to promote positive family life in our own backyard. On 3rd June, Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum will be running its own event for families in support of National Family Week. Gather all your family and friends and join us for discounted entry to the museum with 25% off the standard family ticket price of £12.50.

This special week of celebration focuses on families spending more quality time together so Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum would like to invite families from the Tees Valley area to join us and do just that! The museum is celebrating the Family Road Trip day on Thursday 3rd June by offering 25% off the cost of a family ticket; come and step back in time on an exciting and authentic underground guided tour for less than a tenner! Walk down the drift tunnel and experience the sights, sounds and smells of the industry which built Teesside and made it the iron and steel capital of Great Britain.

Join us for some family fun and make your family a part of National Family Week.

The average family spends just 45 minutes a day together according to a poll commissioned by National Family Week last year. National Family Week, Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum and other partners are encouraging families to improve on this, providing a range of events, competitions, special offers and other activities aimed at bringing families together. The Week is backed by all major political parties and represents the largest coalition on family issues in the UK with over 180 national and thousands of local organisations on board.
